A journal of the night sky

Look up.
Stay a while.

You do not need much to begin noticing the sky. A clear view, a little patience, and somewhere to write.

Begin with your eyes

A familiar patch of sky

Choose one part of the horizon and return to it on several clear evenings. Notice which bright points have moved and which patterns you recognize.

Let your eyes settle into the dark. The quieter details arrive gradually.

Keep a simple record

Date, place, weather

Write down where you were looking, how clear the sky felt, and one thing you noticed. A small sketch can say more than a long description.

There is no need to identify everything at once. Familiarity grows from returning.
